Deanna has a degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona, a certificate in massage therapy and shiatsu from the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts, and a serious interest in the integration of mind and body.
Deanna has practiced mindfulness and meditation for more than 30 years. She teaches mindfulness because she's committed to supporting the community with inner and interpersonal strategies for cultivating deep healing, well-being, and resilience. She's certified by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, in partnership with Sounds True and the University of California's Greater Good Science Center, as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher.
Deanna has been a licensed massage therapist and bodywork practitioner since 2002, and an instructor for most of that time. She knows that deep healing begins with a relaxed body and mind, because slowing down is the first step in any transformation and lasting change. Deanna partners with each client to find individual solutions to their pain and discomfort.
Deanna is a leader in massage therapy education, having held positions that included: Campus President and Education Director for Cortiva Institute Tucson, Regional Director for Arizona School of Integrative Studies, Project Manager for the launch of AFMTE's Educator Certificate Program, and Chief Operations Officer and Editor for Sohnen-Moe Associates (former publisher of Business Mastery and The Ethics of Touch).
Deanna is an NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider (APCE). And through her business, Be Love Education, she consults with school owners and administrators, and provides teacher training for massage and bodywork educators.
